Buffalo Springfield - "For What It's Worth" - Monterey Pop Festival 1967
Its members sometimes didn't stay in the band long, and often fought among themselves. At the time Buffalo Springfield played the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, they were peaking in both commercial success and internal dysfunction. Neil Young had left the band (he would later return) and bassist Bruce Palmer had just re-joined after having been deported to his native Canada after being arrested on a marijuana possession charge.
Turmoil and turnover notwithstanding, the band was always solid and professional on stage and in the studio. Watch Buffalo Springfield's Monterey '67 performance of their best known song, Stephen Stills' composition, "For What It's Worth".
