Gary Valentine – bass After their self-titled first album failed to chart, their second release, Plastic Letters in 1977 reached as high as #10 on the UK album chart. The group’s breakthrough came in 1978 with the release of Parallel Lines, which hit #1 in the UK and #6 in the US and produced five hit singles.

Blondie distinguished itself by progressing into new musical styles with each album, eventually covering punk, disco, new wave and hip hop.
