• ZZ Top are in studio working on their 15th album, expected to be released next year, the 40th anniversary of the release of their debut album in 1971.
• The reissue of the entire Paul McCartney catalog begins November 2 with the remastered Band On The Run from 1973, available on CD or a three-CD, one-DVD deluxe version that adds bonus tracks, music videos and a documentary.
• A solo single from Aerosmith's Steven Tyler is the theme song from a forthcoming Japanese sci-fi flick. "Love Lives" will be released in November.
• KISS employ new media for a live broadcast of the final show of their Greatest Show on Earth tour on Saturday (9/25) night. See it at KROQ.com, CBS Radio rock station websites, and via the Facebook game, Booyah's Nightclub City.
• Pink Floyd reuniting? Possibly, for a one-off performance like their last one (minus the late Richard Wright) at Live 8 in 2005. Roger Waters, who made a surprise appearance with David Gilmour at a recent benefit concert, tells Rolling Stone, "David and Nick [Mason] and I might do a one-off somewhere, but there's no way we're going to do a tour." Waters will be touring The Wall in 2011 to celebrate its 30th anniversary, with Gilmour promising to join at least one performance.
• Complete Albums Box Set (Limited Collector's Edition) compiles all of Black Sabbath's albums from the Ozzy Osbourne era, adding a cross-shaped, 100-page discography to the nine-disc set, coming November 15.
• The Ballad of Mott the Hoople is a new documentary to be screened next month (October 16-19) at British Film Institute, coinciding with release (10/4) of a four-CD box set, Mott The Hoople In Performance 1970-74.
